The European History Section was founded in 1955 to serve European
historians, graduate students, and faculty in the South. Over the years,
it has grown into a full-fledged associate of the Southern Historical
Association, and it now attracts European historians, graduate students,
faculty, independent researchers, and patrons of history in the entire
United States and abroad. The European History Section is for everyone
who is interested in the European past.
European History Section of the Southern Historical Association is the
oldest European History Association in the United States. It encourages
the study of the history of Europe, particularly by historians in the
South. It is the only professional association of Europeanists with a
comparative, multi-disciplinary approach.
The European History
Section is recognized as a non-profit organization under Section 501 (c)
(3). All contributions are tax-deductible.
